In the area of company law we provide legal advice concerning mergers and acquisitions, sales or splitting of companies, drafting of shareholder agreements, granting/issuing proxies, establishing and maintaining company registers and records. We draft the required documents and contracts in close co-operation with notaries, fiscal advisers and other partners.
Commercial law, and international sales and distribution law
In the field of contract law we mainly draft national as well as international business and trade contracts. One major task, inflicting controversies within Belgian law, is sales and agency contracts. Furthermore our special areas of expertise lie within commercial distribution law, franchising, sales, as well as drafting standard business terms and adapting them to current jurisprudence.
Competition law and anti-trust law
We enjoy extensive experience in European and Belgian competition and anti-trust law, taking full advantage of our proximity to the seats of European Union institutions.
Industrial property law
We draft, revise and develop contracts concerned with co-operation assignments and licenses. We look take care of after trademark registrations, both on national and international level, and represent clients in litigation concerning trademarks and patents. We give advice on and draft contracts within the area of copyrights as well as defend our clients? interests in litigation concerning this subject. We also give advice, draft all agreements and defend our clients¿ interests in matters of copy-right and hereto related litigation.
Labour law
In the field of labour law, our main activities involve drafting, negotiation and execution of labour and management contracts. We provide legal advice for changing, modifying or terminating such contracts as well as representing our clients in labour law proceedings/lawsuits.
Banking law, leasing, and commercial documents
The firm possesses a wide experience in the areas of the conclusion of credit contracts, constitutions of guaranties, letters of credit in international banking activities, the law of cheque and bills of exchange
Litigation
We have a long-lasting successful experience in litigation. We litigate, with Belgium being a trilingual country, in Dutch, French and German, according to the situation of the court where the case is pending. We are admitted to all Belgian courts, except the High Court (Cour de Cassation), and have defended our clients¿ interests at the European Court of Justice. We also have a long-lasting experience in commercial arbitration.
