Hoffmann
studied at the universities of Freiburg i.Br. (Germany),
Saarbrücken (Germany), Sorbonne (Paris) (degree:
license es lettres), and the Université Libre de Bruxelles
(Belgium), where she obtained the title of Doctor of Laws in 1970.
She then worked
as research delegate at the Centre of Private
law ("Centre de Droit Privé") of the University of
Brussels for several years.

Dr.
Hoffmann has also
represented clients before the EC Court of Justice in Luxembourg and
has acted as an arbitrator in national and international arbitration
cases.

administrative member of various Chambers of Commerce and other
professional associations such as the International Bar Association
and the International Association of Lawyers (UIA) where she is
vice-president of the commission of international sales. She is
cofounder and member of the Administrative Council of the European
Association of Lawyers in which she plays a very active role.
